One of my goals starting Artichoke was to dedicate time to meeting others and working with the community. Here is my look back at Forcelandia 2022!
Forcelandia 2022 is in the books, and working as an organizer and seeing the community come together at the event is my proudest achievement with Artichoke to-date.
Leading up to the event I worked alongside an experienced team and got to see behind the scenes of the work it takes to build community. In the seven years since the first Forcelandia, the event has grown from a one-day event at a brewery to a multi-day, 30 speaker, sponsors flying in from overseas. After the conference this year I can see why everyone–attendees, speakers, organizers, and sponsors–keeps coming back.
At the event the helpfulness of the community is infectious. I got to staff the registration and the SWAG booth and run around the venue helping with whatever was needed to keep things moving. The two days wrapped with me yelling out winning raffle numbers at the bar after the conference officially closed. The speakers kept things light and the sponsors were truly excited to share the technologies they were working on. Forcelandia 2022 was just fun.
